Four Prep Basketball Teams Still Alive

There are four Rutherford County prep basketball teams playing this week for a spot in the upcoming TSSAA Blue Cross Basketball Championships.

Tonight (Monday), the defending AAA state and national champion Blackman Lady Blaze will host Cumberland County. NewsRadio WGNS will have broadcast delay coverage of this game, right after the live play-by-play from the Oakland girls at White County. Also, in AA action, the Central Magnet Lady Tigers will travel to McMinn County. We will have score updates from this game throughout our broadcasts.

Tuesday, the defending AAA state champion Blackman boys will host Bradley Central. NewsRadio WGNS will also have coverage of this game. Air time both Monday and Tuesday is 6:45pm.

The girls teams who advance will play this week in the girl's state tournament. If Oakland wins, they'll play at 11:30 Wednesday morning. A Blackman girls win and they play Wednesday at 1:15pm. Central Magnet would play Thursday at 2:15pm.

Boys state is next week. A Blackman boys win would put them playing Wednesday, March 11th at 1:15pm.
